Dorm burglars caught in chase, charged

Five non-student males attempted to burglarize Wilhelm Hall at Moravian College after gaining access to the dormitory on Oct. 23. According to police, the suspects managed to enter Wilhem Hall and broke into a room shared by two students. The residents saw the suspects leaving their locked room and yelled at them. (1) comment

Rumors have been circulating the campus that the college is freezing the accounts of all student organizations. These rumors may have started partly in response to the announcement that the college will not have a concert during the fall semester. According to Warren Hilton, associate dean for student development and director of the co-curricular leadership program, the college is not freezing accounts, but rather carefully watching how clubs spend their money, a measure that was put into effect Oct. Cohen Lecture brings ex-CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson to campus

On Wednesday, Oct. 29, former CIA covert operative Valerie Plame Wilson presented the 25th annual Cohen Lecture with her talk, entitled "Civility and Public Service." Five years ago, Plame Wilson found herself thrust into a national spotlight when government official Lewis "Scooter" Libby revealed her secret status to several national journalists, including one syndicated newspaper columnist who published her name in retaliation for an opinion article her husband wrote criticizing the war in Iraq. Comedian Johnny Walker jokes around at MoCo

Having been featured on Comedy Central and as a patient on the television show "ER," the popular comedian Johnny Walker came to Moravian College for an hour worth of comedy this past weekend. Walker began with talk about Fresca because it is "bubbly and effervescent," and warmed the audience of students up for a great show. (3) comments

Naturalist writer embodies connection between science and art

Scott Weidensaul, a naturalist and a writer, came to campus on Thursday, Oct. 23, as the second guest speaker in the Intersections series, which aims at highlighting the linkage between science, nature and the arts. He delivered a lecture in Prosser auditorium entitled, "Looking for the Heart, Saving Nature Through Art and Science. (0) comments
