The competition focused on three portions: questions about personal experiences at Moravian, talent show and evening wear with academic questions.
Hosted by Delta Tau Delta brother Rey Benschop, IFC Representative, and Zeta Tau Alpha member Kristina Cherrier, Panhellenic President, the event featured three contestants from each Greek organization.
From Alpha Sigma Alpha, Jackie Blazier, Brooke Prelovsky and Carli Timpson showed off how well they can move. Blazier performed a jazz dancing solo, and Timpson danced to "Superfreak" with two other girls. As a Moravian cheerleader, Prevlovsky showcased her stunting talents to the song "Hot N Cold."
Alpha Sigma Tau demonstrated just how diverse their sorority is with contestants Lauren Raia, Heather Nederostek and Lindsay Mazzeo. Raia brought back the 90's with a talented Skip-It segment, while Nederostek showed her inner diva in a lip sync performance of "I Will Survive." Mazzeo, a latecomer in the competition, shared her ice skating talent in a video presentation.
From Sigma Sigma Sigma, Meredith Wertheim and Lindsay Yeakel took a shot at the title of "Greek Goddess." Wertheim showcased her piano skills, while Yeakel lip synced to "He Loves You Not" with a group of backup dancers.
Sarah Lucci, Jena Al-khal and Samantha Milita represented Zeta Tau Alpha. Lucci took on a tap dance routine to Pink's latest single, "So What," while Al-khal dazzled the crowd with her belly dancing skills. Milita, accompanied by background dancers, lip synced to the tune of "It's Raining Men" while waving her umbrella.
Delta Tau Delta was well-represented by Patrick Rosendale and Jason Zeidman. Rosendale showed off his world class Irish dancing skills, while Zeidman strummed his guitar and sand to a Dave Matthews Band song.
Kyle Krupa was on hand to represent Sigma Phi Epsilon, with his vocal rendition of the song "Inside of You," from the popular movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall."
Representing Omicron Gamma Omega were Jeremiah Reinhart and Russ Snow. Reinhart wooed the audience with a sing-along session as he played guitar to Third Eye Blind's "Semi-Charmed Life." Snow, also musically inclined, performed along a drummer and he played his guitar.
The contest was judged by Moravian's finest: Ann Claussen, Nicole Loyd, Laura Gordon, and Holly Nonnemacher. The awards were announced following a brief judges' meeting to narrow down the winning participants.
The award for Comedic Excellence went to Russ Snow, from OGO, for his ability to keep the audience laughing throughout the evening.
Jena Al-khal from ZTA was awarded with Most Interesting Talent for her belly dancing moves.
Shining Escort was awarded to Lauren Raia for her escort during the evening wear section.
The awards for Mister and Miss Congeniality were awarded to Jeremiah Reinhart, OGO, and Sarah Lucci, ZTA, respectively.
Patrick Rosendale and Meredith Wertheim were honored as Mister and Miss Well Rounded, for their shining appearances throughout the night and for their contribution to Moravian.
Finally, Jason Zeidman, DTD, and Jackie Blazier, ASA, were crowned the first ever Moravian God and Goddess for 2008.
Also a winner for the evening, Zeta Tau Alpha received the Philanthropy award for being the most represented Greek organization at the event. ZTA received $112.50 to donate to their chosen cause: Breast Cancer Awareness.
The night was the first of its kind for Moravian and featured talent, laughs and some great surprises.
