Economy calls for reconsideration

With the economy in its current state, people are scrambling to get jobs and make some money in any way they can. Yet, people forget the old process of also saving some of their money.
Sure, there are still money-savers out there who go out and clip every coupon possible. People cut out trips that they were planning on taking and even try to cut down on their gas costs to save some green. But people neglect some of the bigger ways they can save money, though it does require some sacrifice.
Almost everyone has texting on their cell phone for a minimum of $10 a month. It might not seem like a lot but it is money. If things are tight, then cut it out for a bit. It will save you more money than you might think.
Some neglect to think about their savings options, should they not be good with savings. An example is to open a CD account, a high-interest savings account that one cannot touch until the time is up. But so far, the people I have talked to at college have not even heard what a CD account is.
Work is hard to find but there are options out there. As college students, we can now go into subbing for schools. If we look carefully, we can find jobs out there. Sometimes, we have jobs and all we need is to take on extra hours and save the money that we earn.
Finally, one can look into selling stuff.
Garage sales are always an option. Selling online and on eBay is popular at the moment. Some places, such as the Attic on Broad Street, will buy items that you no longer want.
Everyone has a few clothes that are out of style but still wearable or some things that they have been meaning to throw out simply because they do not have a use for it anymore.
So, instead of crying over the broken economy and how you have no money, go out and try to save. You just need to actually try and work for it and save it instead of going out to dinner all the time, going on random trips or neglecting that coupon.
